724 Fifth Avenue

Just south of 57th Street, 724 Fifth Avenue has been home to such renowned galleries such as Tibor De Nagy Gallery, Babcock Galleries, and Maxwell Davidson Gallery. In 2011, members of our team were tasked by the Landlord to find a new tenant to occupy the entire 8th floor, which previously housed the Grace Borgenicht Gallery and D.C. Moore Gallery, more recently. Members of our team were able to successfully identify the acclaimed David Findlay Jr. Gallery as a tenant, who had been searching for a larger exhibition space. The gallery owner’s father, David Findlay Sr., had previously occupied the exact same floor in the building during the 1940s.

At over 5,000 square feet, the space is ideal for art galleries as it offers an open floor plan with two exhibition areas and high ceilings with no columns. David Findlay Jr. Gallery specialized in American paintings and sculptures from the 19th to the 21st Centuries. Following the passing of David Findlay Jr. in 2015, the gallery was acquired by Wally Findlay Galleries and has returned to the gallery’s original name of Findlay Galleries. The name was used between 1870 and 1965, which led the Finlay Galleries to lay claim to being the second longest-running private gallery in the US.
