Di Donna

Previously located on the second floor of the Carlyle Hotel, the Di Donna gallery was founded in 2010 by Emmanuel Di Donna, the former Sotheby’s Vice-Chairman of Impressionist & Modern Art. Our team was contacted by the gallery in 2016 when they chose to relocate to a larger space within close proximity of their exclusive clientele.

With an emphasis on Surrealism, Di Donna Galleries specializes in sales and exhibitions of European and American art between 1900 to 1970. The gallery has staged museum-quality monographic exhibitions by artists such as Rene Magritte, Andre Masson, Jean Arp, Paul Delvaux, and Andy Warhol. In addition to placing important works of art in museums and private institutions, Di Donna advises clients seeking to build their distinguished collections.

Although Di Donna’s unique accessibility requirements for their large pieces posed an initial challenge, we were able to find a 7,500 square foot space over Loro Piana’s flagship store on Madison Avenue. Exquisitely designed by Rexrode Chirigos Architects, each room is built for maximum function with a clean minimalist aesthetic and museum-standard climate control. The gallery’s multiple rooms can be used individually or combined to allow a range of sequences for an exhibition.
